A ufo displaying bright magnesium colour luminosity infiltrated into the impact area it was described to me as being 25 to 30 feet across and that iot hovered for some 30 seconds an dthen shot off at an angle of 45 degrees with the ground at tremendous speed without appearing to accelerate. apparently an order to cease firing was issued by a lt of the gun position office. i am informed that an order to cease fire in the middle of an exercice of this type s very rare and not given without a valid reason. approx 15 days after the event all relevant personnel were interviewed by an raf man believed to be of the rank of group captain form raf bentwaters who was already well versed and briefed about what had occured as he produced a number of maps plans and charts of the neighbourhood and gave the impression that he was very conversant with interviewiong servicemen and others cocnerning ufo activity

  16h50 approx sightinh reportts were made to a number of different locations including the police at worcester and dyfed, local fire brigade stations, the cro at raf hereford  whe there were a number of military witnesses and duty officers at raf shwabury raf brampton and in main building. the distress and iversion cell at west drayton also fielded a number of calls, eand was reported on radio and television, shawbury star and macnhester evening news. the object was a bright white light at a high altitude with flames or an illuminated vapour trail in its wake.many witnesses bielieved that they were witnessing an aircraft acciodent ans some reports indicated that the object broke up. a few secons after the sighting a low rumbling sound was heard and some windows were seen to be shaking.

And because it was so very colg i decided to get up and made myself a cup of tea .the sky was very clear , the stars were very bright. I t hen suddenly noticed a very bright very large white light moving into view.it was moving form the south of the hjouse window towards the west as it did so it became longer and more definite and sitinct it was white at the top (dull white) with a red orange yellow glowing larger linger shape base.the very large white light was to the right centre of the object, the white light aws giving out a systematic signal of flashes very clean and definite flashes .the light remained the same size shape  4 or 5 signal flashes were given.the white light dimmed the object moved a certain distance the signal exactly the same was repeated the light dimmed again the object moved exactly the same distance and so on... very precise and accurate. oi wateched it disappeared towards the north and silent. yet ist seemed very large and powerful over dartmoor until it was out of site.i rang exeter airport who informed me that there were no aircraft in the area.

DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 penzance cornwall ireland   00h45 i saw a couple of objects travelling n s not quite overhead. I momentarily though they were a couple of meteorites but instead of vanishing quickly they kept on coming. They were travelling parallel to each other travelling very precisely.they were like very big stars.they were as bright as sirius and about 4 times as large they were about 1" 1 11/4"" apart as seen by the naked eye and were giving off a vapour trail.the lights were white like stars and the trails were white like fog.the trails came form directly behind the objects and were a single thick trail not like those given off by large airliners which are split into two.my first thought was my god waht's that ? they were obvuisouly some kind of controlled aircraft but not like anything i'd seen before.they were no flashing navigational lights just two extraordinary bright lights which were unusually large and or powerful travelling fast. as they proceeded n s i noticed that there were two other objects accompagnying or following the larger two.there were not visible in themselves but were giving off vapour trails although these were barely visible.as i watched theuir progress across the sky i tried to relate what a i was seeing to something i was already familiar withe.looked like those seen during the day coming from flying smaller jet aiorcraft. side by side the other 2 objects trails they were very large indeed.the objects flew very precisely.there were definitely 4 seperate objects and these were definetely controlled c raft.the 2 large lights were flying exactly parallel to each and i believe a little way behind and below them the 2 smaller ones also flew exactly parallel to each other. all4 flew exac tly the same speed and course. no noise., nor direct nor delayed sound. but a low barely audible displaced muffled rumbling sound cominf from somewhere off to the west and several dogs barking i wateched the 4 objects fly southwards where they flew into some cloud.the clouds lit up very brilliantly .then out of sight
DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 truto cornwall schema 01h09 my attention was caught by a movement coming over my roof form the north. I saw two very bright points of light flying in a sse direction their path was from the area of ursa minor and went parallel to the pointers to acturus in ursa major.their colour was a blue white and they left a ropey trail like a vortex form a plane wing though i am sire it was not a plane because it had no navogation lights and was completely silent. and if it was a secret american spy plane as someone on tv suggested then it would'nt carry floodlights on its wingtips.the objects were at 45 deg and to the east of his position .he saw only two objects and two vapour trails.the objects were the size of pinhead aal.they travelled at 2" apart aal and the speed was about 1 1/2 aal per second.the trails appeared 1" behind the lights and faded in 4 5 seconds. the traisl which were as wide as a normal jet trail at 30,000 ft were unusual.it was like whent you're looking at an ultra violet light, your eeys can't quit focus on it.it was the same with the trails.the lights were a bright white blue and the trails were very bright blue almost violet.they were very bright but i could'nt say if they were self luminous or reflecting the moon which was at 90 de to them.ansastronomer was stunned by wht he saw he watched the objects for 30 40 seconds then rushed indoors to get his camera when he came out the objects and trails had gone becausehe knew he had seen something unusual , xx called westcountry tv the same day and his report was mentioned on the local news the next day

I see 2 bright amber lights coming at an angle but straight overhead.they were spaced apart moved in unison and were leaving a heavy trail as they went overhead. I could see a shape behind each light a sort of dark mass that i felt was short and cylindrical like a bean tin between and above the lights was a sort of streamer or beam that seemed to ripple.i ran along the same path as the objects but streched ahead and behind them and seemed to keep catching up.i find this hard very hard o describe.as they passed over the roof .i ran into our bedroom at the front of the house.i woke my wife ans opened the curtains and together we watced them fly out of sight
DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 torquay devon schema 01h15 there were 2 bright shining orange lights moving at great speed .they had flown over the rooftop and were heading in the direction of the sea .they were 2 vapour trails left by the 2 main lights and as they went into the distance i noticed another small light in between them but quite a bit behind and with a smaller vapour trail.there was complete silence and the speed was faster than any place shooting star or other object i've seen. against the night sky they were quite bright and the vapour trails were very clear.the lights looked like a cigarette end in the dark and travelling at great speed. botth witnesses noted the time on the bedside clock was  1,15.the objects were travelling form n to s.the vapour trails were the same colour as the lights.they were brighlty lit along their lenght and sttreched form horizon to horizon.they had no idea how far awayy the objects were. xx tought the small object between the  2 main lights was the most unusual aspect of the sighting though he found it hard tio explain why.he said it kept falling behind and then cathcing up with lights and then falling behind again before going forward and catching up again.this was happening during all of the sighting

All three semmed to be of a gold to orange colour and left a trail which was visible over about 3/4 of the sky.the obejcts came form behind which was nnw and the trails could be seen for approx half of the available sky behind and obsiously to the objects in front.the trails were the ame colour as the lights but paler and got dimmer and dimmer furter back along the trail. nothing appeared to connect the objects together and stars were visible at all times between them.no sound , both objects same size.the small one sliglhty larger than a pinhead.the main lights were 5 6 " apart and the small light was 6 7 " behind the main ones. the smalle robject on the inside of the left trail appeared to be bouncing in waving way as it kept boucing off the trail.i felt it was like watching a kiddie trying to keep up with its parents saying wait for me wite for me. the small object stayed the same distance behind the main lights all of the time.i could see a short trail from it but it wasn't distinct because it was sa close to the large trail. all three continued in a dead straight line in the position shown in the diagram.they did not stop at all and disappeared in a sse direction
DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 st mellions cornwall schema 01h25 i saw what i thought was two raf jets flying above me.i then realised that the speed they were doing was too fast and aslo the fact thatr there was no sound anthere should have been because they were quite low.in the jet smoke behind the planes i noticed something sparkling like little red stars but they were moving at the same speed as the jets. xxx did not see any bright lights .the arrowehad shaped objects were each the size of 2p aal .they had no navigation lights and were hazy and dark but the trails behind the were bright;within the trails were twinckling red stars
DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 plymouth blockhouse high of 221 ft nw of tama bridge 01h25 2 young women and 4 young men were at the blockhouse on their way home. We saw appearing form the nnw 2 white balls of light.they looked as i they were travelling upwards vertically but they were travelling to the se about 1/2 1 mile up in the air. As they flew overhead i saw between the two lights two smaller yellow lights travelling in a figure of eight pattern whilst they were overhead the two smaller lights tailored off to the ne maintaining a constant distance between themselves.no sound.lights seemed very bright and very close approx half a mile away.trails possibly light trails were seen behind the objects. 
DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 plymouth blockhouse high of 221 ft nw of tama bridge 01h25 two large bright lights appeared on the horizon form the direction of the tamara brigde they travelled straight over my head making absolutely no sound. As they came up from the horizon two smaller lights were visible between the largger ones.they were travelling in a figure of eight pattern. as the colelction of lights reached a point over me the smaller lights shot off at 90 deg horizontally towards central park ne the other two continued until they disappeared over the horizon
DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 plymouth blockhouse high of 221 ft nw of tama bridge   01h25 myself and 5 mates were up at the blockhouse when someone said look up there when i did i saw 2 lights in the sky we followed them across from saltash and over our heads.the lights were white creamy and were different sizes.the 2 front ones were largest ne was about the size of 1/2p aal and tht other slightly smaller.the little light behind them awas about the size of a split pea aal. i thought at first there was only 2 lights.it was only when they were almost directly above me that i saw there was 3;the little one looked as if it was trying to keep up with the large ones it was quite sweet really.because of the angle they came towards us it was also only when they were almost above me that i first noticed the trails of smoke behind them. as the trails came off the lights they were as bright as the light but dimmed quickly and got dimmer and dimmer as they streched back?the trails were about half a metre or more long aal. i knew it wasn't a plane because the lights were the wrong colour and there was total silence. also the sky was so clear above me i would have been able to see a plane. it took the lights between 45 secs and 1 minute to fly form horizon to horizon. three of the witnesses saw the small lights depart at high speed form the large lights two others said they were just watching the main lights and xxx said she watched all 3 lights fly into distance
DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 ennis  co clare     00h30 00h45 we were coming home and i was just looking out of the side window of the car when i saw these two bright lights and i was thinking to myself they were very bright to be stars.i saw this trail og fog or white light behind them so i opened the window just to see more clearly.i saiid to mum and dad i wonder wht those lights are. i suppose they were about 10' apart directly opp one another with this trail of fog was trailing behind them.so we stoped the car and got out and we could see it travelling kind of from n to s dir travelling just fairly steady like and we saw these 4 or 5 small little like stars following teh white lights as well .it just disappeared over the hill then but when we came up home the trail of fog was still in the sky very bright but the lights had travlled through
DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 all over the west country   01h10 the police ufo reports he was receiving form stations all over the west country.within 36 hours of the sightings xxx verbal reports form  20 officers constables and sergeants who had been on duty at 01 10 am and had all seen the objects. He took brief detauls from each they couldn't have been more helpful said xxx all said they would complete reports forms which were duly posted to them.of the 20 report forms sent out, 17 were not returned.those received were form the 3 sergeants who had seen the objects. none of the constable returned forms. both puforg and duforo were surprised at the very poor responde form the constables
DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 liskeard     01h10 police.; xxx was on duty at liskeard 01,10 when he saw two very bright lights hovering above at about 2000 ft above th nw horizon knowing the night sky fairly well he immediately realised that they were not stars an did not conformhis patrol car and got out.he watched the objects for a few seconds and was amazed to see them suddenly start to ascend at a fairly fast rate of knots.they seemed to move in an arc over his position and disappeared to the south. at their highest point about 10000 ft this height is based on information obtained fomr the control tower at exeter airport later that day, 2 vapour trailes appeared behind each object and they appeared to be self luminous.
DEFE31 181 31/03/1993 lynton n devon   01h10 pc x and y were approaching lynton n devon travelling due north at 01,10 when they saw  two very bright lights approaching from the north across the bristol channel;stopping their patrol car tthey watched as the lights drew nearer to them.the lights or objects passed to the west going in a se direction.as it passed over they noticed a third light, much smaller than the other two and positionned somewhere between them.;as it went away from them both officers saw 2 white vapour like trails behind each light.they described theses trails as self luminous not the same as normal aircraft vapour more like beams of light ! they estimated the elevation of the objects to be 40 deg to the horizon at a distance between 1000 and 2000 ft sightings quoted from duforo's report (devon ufo research group)
DEFE31 181 21/04/1993 yelverton rapport puforg +schema 14h15 xxx and her grandson  were driving form yeverton to dogland on the b3212 when she saw a very bright silver object  flying in their direction form ne. She immediatley slowed her spoeed thinking i am seeing my first ufo so i must take in the details. object was very large 4 1/2 x 1/2 ins at arms lenght to the left and at 45 deg to their position.the weather was bright and sunny with scattered cloud end excellent visibility.they both watched as the object came down the walkhampton valley about 1/2 a mile away and passed them on the other side of walkhampton. xxx said it looked like a torpedo they used in the last war but without any fins.. ui tough at first it might be an experimental aircraft but there were deinitiley no wings tail or tail fine.it looked like a torpedo. she was greatly impressed by the object.the silver of the object was striking i wonder who is doing the buffing to get it as brilliant as that. i wish i could get my silver to look like that when asked how  how it was diffrent to her silver.. x couldn't explain and said it just looked wonderful .how pretty how very pretty were her thoughts at the time, but it was beautiful, truly beautiful she sid during the interview. she also noted a rectangular section of bright red at the rear of the object .there was also some yellowy orange at the rear but no smoke, flames or other signs of propulsion.they watched as tyhe object flew past walkhampton and continued its straight line ne sw flight.. xx lost sight of it at this point. the object sleekly took a 30deg turn to wnw continuing its flight over horrebridge village and out of sight.the object had been in sight for 40 seconds

The object was white but going back from the nose it was red, the red covering about 15% of the object .the surface was non reflective .he described it as a thorn or dart.it moved quickly like a dart when it has been thrown;when it changed course it turned slekkly smoothly and directly.. xxx felt at all times that the object was controlled , was being flown and that whoever was flying it knew were they were and what they were doing

rapport puforg +schema 1h40 20 seconds  a very large  (3ft at arms lenght) browny orange object came form over the house and flew  quickly in a straight line away from her position west towards plymouth sound.the object was a thick ciger shape in a horizontal position like an oblong with rounded corners.this huge cigar seemed to have a bublling mass around it as it came over the house.if i can liken it to the bublly plastic packing only in burnt ornage colour.it seemed to be coming form just over our roof top as i looked up and first saw it.this object coming form just over our roof top as i looked up and first saw it.this object was very low and felt just over me.there was no sound whatsoever. the light veered off to the right without seeming to turn.the object was now over the mt gould area of plymouth when again it slid to the right in another right angled tuirn this time to eene and whizzed out of sight. xxx said there was movement within the object but found it difficult to explain. she said the object was sliding backwards and forwards but though it may appear like this if it was spinning. maybe lights inside as we have tried to draw gave this appearance of movement as if it was spinning it would seen the outer surface of the object was static and the "movement" was within it. xwxx also saw a green light at one point in the sighting. xxx was suprised as this object was identical to an object she saw for three consecutive mornings some years ago when the famili lived int the southway area of plymouth

DEFE31 181 16/03/1989 dumfries article presse patricia anderson 47 ake a photo of secret airplane ? Itw as oval shaped and grey coloured and much bigger than an raf tornado.it looked like nothing i had seen before, i presume were engine intakes looking ike a pair of giant eyes as it approached, it was also very very quite, police arrived in hours and we were  questioned in detail we wera also asked to sketch the object. no good pictures on the film...so they said...telephone call to say to her to keep it out of his mind because it was secret matter

   Numerous witnesses in Louth, Lincolnshire, reported seeing three lights which appeared to be attached to a large, triangular-shaped craft on 9 December 1992. The UFO hovered, turned on its axis and then shot off upwards at an estimated speed of 500mph (see DEFE 31/181: 128 for a similar sighting at Heathrow one week later)
